TEXTILES PHOTO SHOOT!

Earlier this week, i finally got round to doing my photo shoot for my Textiles recycling project. There have been a few sleepless nights as my head has been going crazy trying to think of the perfect place to do the shoot...who would have thought it could be soo stressful?! Anyway i found this perfect little place down the road from me with this cute building which kind of looks like a castle.
As usual i like to keep things in the family so i asked my beautiful cousin Olivia to model the dress for me and my cousin Michaella to take the photos on her professional camera. I usually direct the shoot and do hair and make up which suits me perfectly.
Now on to the dress, my brief for this project was to make a recycled garment for Oxfam. Straight away i knew i wanted to make a cocktail dress that was wearable and didn't look like it was recyclable. I found scrap recycled fabrics around my house and at school. Overall i was really pleased with my dress; i hope you like it and the pictures too!
I also made a little backstage video for all of my dearest bloggers.

Fashion Fusion Course...

Hey everyone! I hope your Christmas holidays have all started really well, mine certainly have. Over the past two days I have been in London on a Fashion Careers course at the Fashion and Textile Museum. When i first signed up to take part in this course i wasn't really sure what to expect, and to be honest I wasn't quite sure what i'd be doing on the course. However i have got to say, after being there for an hour I knew this course was going to be something special! Throughout the two days, our course teacher gave us information on a variety of jobs in the Fashion Industry in order to help us decide what path we want to take and gave us tips on how to prepare for interviews and what to write in our CVs.
In addition to this, one of my favourite parts was that she had invited various people in the fashion industry to come in and talk to us about their jobs. On Day One, we had a costume designer come in named Lucy Donawho who's latest project was working on the newest Sherlock Holmes movie (How cool?!). On day two we had three other people come in, someone who worked in PR, a student at London College of Fashion and a lady who was a garment technologist for Amanda Wakeley. They were all so inspirational and gave us such good tips!
I have got to say if you are someone who would love to work in the fashion industry but doesn't know what  exactly to do, this course is definitely for you! I absolutely loved it and came away from it knowing what I want to do now and having made new friends. I would definitely recommend it especially as the first course you take there is free (woo!) SHOES...

Illustration Project- #1 Shoes

Final Designs

Initial Ideas

Hello my lovelies! I thought i'd share with you all my shoe drawings for my Illustration Project (A Level). Our brief was to find a dress from a designer's runway collection,
and then design a range of shoes to be worn with that particular garment.
The designer i chose was Jenny Packham, because i absolutely ADORE her designs. She produces some of the most beautiful dresses!
At first i thought this project would be extremely difficult, because i never really thought i was that good at drawing, but i have to say I REALLY enjoyed designing shoes. I loved experimenting with different styles and different shapes.
What do you guys think? Love knowing your opinions! Soon i'll post the other parts to my Illustration project on here.

STYLE CRUSH...LANA DEL REY

LANA DEL REY...

If you haven't already heard of  Lana Del Rey, where have you been?! This chic will be hitting your ipod very soon as her song 'Video Games' has already been voted 'Best New Track'.
Not only has she got an incredible and unique voice, but her style is spot on too! She rocks the old-fashioned American starlet feel, with huge eyes, big lips and the most lustrous hair ever!
Her vintage style makes us all want to have her wardrobe. She wears retro prints with mini hot pants, ladylike blouses and her signature one hoop earring.
She is definitely ONE TO WATCH....

Me, and my best friends Lucy, and Stella, went to see Shrek the musical in theatre. We went on Kimberly Walsh's first night as Princess Fiona. I can't believe how amazing it was! It was sooo funny! i really recommend everyone to go and see it..it is not just for children honestly! In the meantime, as it was Kimberly's first night, her all her friends and family were there supporting her, including Cheryl Cole and Nicola Roberts. Now for the best part, for the first time ever..i was PAPPED! Yes, yes it's true, the picture was in the Metro Newspaper the next day hehe.

OCTOBER 17th
On the Sunday, my family and i went to my cousins for their 16th birthday. It was such a fun night. I wish i could show you the hand made cards i made for them but i can find my camera lead :'( to upload the pictures :/ but anyway..HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY BEAUTIFUL COUSINS :D

PRIDE OF BRITAIN AWARDS

I always look forward to this event every year! Hearing about courageous people and their stories just melts my heart. There truly are some incredible people in this country, and i think this event is so crucial in giving these people the recognition they deserve! Involving celebrities in this award ceremony
makes, especially for the children, a dream come true.

Now for some fashion!

Can Cheryl Cole do any wrong? i think her look was my favourite of the night. This Victoria Beckham dress compliments her figure so nicely and the pale pink is stunning against her skin. I also love her curled hair; this is definitely a HIT
I hate to say it but i think Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model winner Jade Thompson outshines Elle Macpherson. I love the feather detail on Jades dress and how incredible is her sleeked back ponytail?! HIT

Ohh Mel C, what were you thinking? This dress is so unflattering! It does nothing for her figure! The shoes aren't even nice! Two Words.... OH DEAR! MISS
Miss Caroline Flack gets it spot on with this dress. Love this LBLD..(little black lace dress) ;) HIT

Trend Spotting Tuesday #1 If I Were A Boy....

This season you gals will start to borrow clothes from the boys wardrobes. Blazers, shirts and chino styled trousers are ALL a must have! Go on..be ONE OF THE BOYS ;)

1) Blazer: I think no girl should be without a black blazer, it is a wardrobe essential girls! I love the style and shape of this Topshop blazer; not too long and not too short. Adding a blazer to an outfit gives it that extra edge, and can be worn during the evening with a dress or during the day with a skirt of trousers.
2)Shirt: This is also a wardrobe essential! A crisp white shirt is a must have to rock the 'one of the boys look'. TOP TIP: get some thick black ribbon and tie it around the collar to make a bow. This gives a unique yet feminine look.
3)Mini Skirt: I adore this Warehouse skirt. This skirt teamed with the white shirt would make the ultiimate evening wear look! Also, by mixing one male inspired item (for instance the shirt) with a sequined mini skirt means you can still be girly too.
4)Chinos: I love the colour of these chinos. These Warehouse trousers are so easy to team anything with.
5)Blouse: I really love this blouse; the black and the nude mixed together is so stylish. I love the black bow because it adds a bit of femininity. I would definitely consider purchasing this item.
6) Clutch Bag: This asos clutch bag is perfect for completing your 'boy' inspired look. If Alexa Chung had carried a bigger bag i think it would have distracted people from her outfit, therefore i think a clutch bag is the perfect size to make a subtle statement.

I am here!

Apologies to all, as i haven't done a post in a while, but it has been my first week back at school, and everything has just been crazy busy! I am officially a 6th former (woop woop!). It's been soo much fun being able to dress in my own clothes, but i have been having to do the whole 'plan your outfit the night before' otherwise the mornings would be C-RAZ-YYY! The school have been really strict with what you're allowed and not allowed to wear, but thankfully i have not been sent home yet for being dressed 'inappropriately!'
Luckily i have been given such good teachers for my A Level subjects..especially Spanish! My Spanish teacher makes me laugh soo much it's unreal! This week i've also been weirdly obsessed with Maroon 5's song 'Moves Like Jagger' and i can honestly not listen to it without wanting to sing along; so i shall not be listening to it in public, because i don't think i can control myself hehe ;)
Hows everyone's week been?

P.s. i will be making extra effort to keep on top of my blog posts for you all <3

Ohh Romeo!

I've recently found out that Italian director, Carlo Carlei is remaking William Shakespeare's classic, Romeo & Juliet. I've always loved the book, as i'm bit of a sucker for love stories (although the book does end in tragedy); therefore i cannot wait for the film to be made.

After searching for months and months, they've recently completed the cast, and i have to say, by the sound of it, it's set to be massive hit! As Juliet, they have cast, 14 year old True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld. For me they couldn't have picked a more perfect choice, as she's got such amazing talent. Not only is she a brilliant actress but she's also giving herself a name in the fashion industry, already becoming the new face of MIU MIU.

For the role of  Romeo, they have chosen the British, 19 year old rising actor Douglas Booth. Queue *APPLAUSE* !! Could they have chosen a more gorgeous actor?!
For those of you who haven't heard of him, here he is...........

Douglas Booth has starred in Starz miniseries 'Pillars of the Earth' and his new film LOL starring Miley Cyrus is set to be released later on this year. Similarly to Hailee Steinfeld, Douglas has also done modelling, and was part of the Burberry Campaign alongside Emma Watson.

They've also cast Gossip Girl's Ed Westwick and Kodi Smit-McPhee as family cousins Tybalt and Benvolio.

So, as you can see by the look of all these young and talented actors, the new film version of Romeo and Juliet is set to be very promising!

Bootylicious Bump

Who else was majorly excited when Beyonce announced at the VMA's that she is pregnant?! She performed her song 'Love On Top' in a glittery suit, to which she popped open the button on her suit jacket to showcase her baby bump. During her performance she said " I want you to feel the love growing inside of me"
I have got say, Beyonce and Jay Z's child will be the most enviable child in the whole world! Lucky thing!

Big Fat Greek Wedding ;)

My cousin Michael's wedding was absolutely amazing! Michael and Katerina got married on Saturday 27th August. Mike and Kat met at Greek School (how cute!?); so they have literally known each other their whole life.
What I Wore: A strapless nude, lace dress from H&M and nude high heels from Next.

It started early, as we had to be at Michael's house at 12 o'clock to do the greek traditions. We then made our way to the church. Katerina looked absolutely beautiful, and her dress was soo stunning! It was such a beautiful service, and i think we all got a bit teary eyed when they were finally pronounced man and wife :) The only downside was that as soon as Mike and Katerina were meant to make their way out of the church, so we could all throw the confetti, it begin to chuck it down with rain :'( Typical British weather!

The reception was held at The Grove in Watford! Such a beautiful place! The hall was so cute full with fairy lights! The meal was super tasty unsurprisingly!
Me and my cousins danced all night which meant the heels had to come off and my flats came on :P I honestly had such an amazing time and Mike and Kat make such a beautiful couple!
